Owl Project: build and mLog weekender

Come and join the wood working technologists Owl Project as they lead you through making your own mLog: A wooden USB controller for your computer. Artists taking the lead (North East) winners Owl Project, return to SPACE for their second workshop to build personalised wooden controllers and nurture the growing community of mLog enthusiasts.

What is an mLog?

m-Log is a hand-held wooden controller interface. The m-Log fits in the palm of the hand and is made using a semicircular cross section of a branch (Just like the iLog). Inside the m-Log is the muio interface (www.muio.org). Which lover of technology and wood can afford to be without one?

Available with a rage of built in sensor inputs (light sensors, accelerometers etc) it has plug in and play compatibility with a wide variety of applications, notably MAX MSP/jitter, SuperCollider and Open Frameworks.

There are student consessions and we have a limited number of half price bursaries for people who are finding it extremely hard to pay for the workshop but cannot afford the price. To apply for a reduced price, or a bursary please contact Jim Prevett at SPACE with reasons for why you need the bursary and how you would benefit from taking part.
