atmos

an art/architecture collaborative practice operating across media: text, video, installation, environments and buildings

Atmos is a multi-disciplinary collaborative practice set up by artist/architect Alex Haw to explore dynamic, interactive cultural projects across a range of media. Atmos works with electronic and analogue media, text and video, installations and performances, buildings and environments.

LightHive, exhibited at the Architectural Association in April/May 07 and Austrias Light Forum until February 08, mapped the building activity through an extensive responsive light network; it was runner up at the FX Design Awards.

Work/Space/Ply/Time, a rapid-assembly pavilion envisioning a future workspace, won the inaugural Urbantine Project, and was installed at the Truman Brewery and the Hong Kong Architecture Biennale in 07/08.

Psyscrapers, commissioned by the Architecture Foundation, collated footage from 130 dvds to expose the psychogeography of Hollywood skyscrapers. CCLTV, commissioned by Sonar, explored the immersive spaces of vision of Londons CCTV.

Current projects include INCEL, a luminous translation of the flickering German Stock Exchange into an abandoned Frankfurt block with the German Architecture Museum, and SeeCTV, a spatialisation of CCTV on the South Bank for the London Festival of Architecture.
