Georgia Chatzivasileiadi
My research explores the limits of our visual perception and the formation of imagery by reproducing the function of digital means of recording.
Born in Athens, Greece. Lives and works in London. Studied BA (Hons) Painting, MA Digital Arts in Athens School of Fine Art. Image and Sound in the Royal Academy of Fine Art, The Hague, Holland. Graduate student at the Slade School of Fine Art in London.
She has participated in a number of personal and group shows, group actions in urban open spaces and workshops, in Greece, Holland and London. Worked as a set and costume designer. She has written published work.
She is awarded the AHRC 2004-2006 Award, the Greek State Scholarships Foundation (IKY) 2004-2006, the Project Award 2005(Slade School), the 1rst Prize for New Contemporaries Spyropoulos Foundations Award 2005, 4th honorary distinction for the Greek Competition (Sarayevo Bienale of Young Artists) 2001, the Erasmus Scholarship 1999.
