Ghislaine Boddington is an artist, director, curator and presenter, a specialist in dance/performance and the evolution of body responsive technologies, virtual physical body networks and interactive interfaces.

Ghislaine develops solutions based on fifteen years as a director/founding member of the London based sound/movement research unit shinkansen (1989-2004), always researching through group process. Across these years she regularly curated seasons for the ICA and Dance Umbrella London, as well as directed numerous symposia and workshops in Europe, the US and Asia. She has worked as a dramaturg alongside many reknowned choreographers as they have evolved into using digital technologies and telematics.

As Artistic Director of Future Physical (Arts Council of England 2001-03), her focus is on placing the human body (performer and public) at the centre of digital interaction. She has evolved an in depth knowledge of the way in which the human user perceives, moves and participates, communicates and behaves within intelligent space. She prioritises the user mode in the process and has particular expertise in remote body/space connectivity through real-time telematics. A key area of current research and knowledge is telekinetics, telepresence and the evolution of intuitive interfaces which she is extending through co-founding the new design unit b>d>s. She is a Fellow at the Royal Society of the Art and holds a Research Associateship with ResCen (Middlesex University)
