James P Graham is a fine artist working exclusively in the 360-degree film format.

James P Graham has been working full time as a fine artist for five years. This followed after 16 years as a commercial photographer, director and film-maker working in the UK, France, Italy, Spain, USA and Australia.

He started his photographic career in 1986 working out of Paris for magazine and advertising clients. In 1992 he received two awards from AFAEP in London for experimental work. Two years later he moved back to the UK and started to direct commercials for TV and cinema. This served as an invaluable technical training ground from which he turned to experimental film. In 1997 Channel 4 commissioned a substantial short film programme (13 episodes) which led to the birth of the ambient TV genre. For the last five years he has worked exclusively making films in 360, and has received funding awards from the NESTA foundation and the ARTS COUNCIL of ENGLAND.

Through his film installations, photographs and drawings Graham uses the promordial conduits of landscape and the natural world as ontological metaphors with which to research ideas concerning truth, enlightenment and sacred space.

The presentation of Iddu at Sketch is his first solo show in the UK
