Julie Freeman is an artist who uses technology to expose or communicate the natural systems that surround us to discover new previously hidden worlds, exploring the boundaries between art, nature and technology.

She was awarded a NESTA fellowship in May 2003 to develop her work, which has generated media coverage ranging from the BBCs Tomorrows World through to Womens Hour and constantly provides a platform for discussion. She has exhibited nationally and internationally.

Julie was co-founder and co-director of Studio Fish, an artist-led creative technology company for 7 years (1993-2001) and worked as a software producer for the BBC Worldwide and PwC Consulting, all of which have given her extensive team management experience within creative teams. She is on the steering group of FreqOUT!.

Currently Artist in residence at the Centre for Microsystems & Nanotechnology, Cranfield University.
