Ruairi Glynn
My research is focused around interactive architecture and specifically interactive kinetic architecture. While predominantly creating installations, I'm also designing whole buildings, creating VJ software and run my blog - www.interactivearchitecture.org
I'm currently interested in building interactive kinetic architecture which usually manifests itself as some sort of built installation but occasionally turns into virtual pieces as well. I also develop VJ software and run my blog interactive architecture.
My major piece to date is 'Reciprocal Space' which was a room in which reconfigurable walls constantly changed their shape through the movement of pistons behind a latex skin. Its movement responded in real-time to its inhabitants creating a dance like performance.
A Graduate of MediaLab Arts (now called Digital Art & Technology) at Plymouth University, Im currently at the Bartlett School of Architecture with Unit 14, The Interactive Architecture Workshop where i'm collaborating with traditionally trained architects in building weird and wonderful things.
