Ryan Jordan is a UK based sound artist and electronic musician working with DIY Punk electronics, physical performance, Pure Data, and noise. He creates live electronic music/noise scores and performances which incorporate human physical movements and stoboscopic light as their essential foundation.

He is specifically interested in new understandings of music/noise/sound, the creation of new instruments and interfaces, free/libre and open source software (FLOSS), DIY electronic arts and their impact and implications on contemporary society and culture. Sensory Response Systems is his first major project and research into this subject.

Ryan also curates several noise, experimental and computer arts events and concerts in the UK, such as hac... and noise=noise which promote a wide range of artists, from the internationally acclaimed to the underground lurker.

He is an active member of London based open source collective, OpenLab; and has released music/noise on underground labels such as Bad Sekta, Anithematica/CovenH, AntiGen, and Noiz Mutations.

Ryan's work has been performed and presented internationally at places such as Piksel Festival, Norway; 3rd International Pure Data Convention, Brazil; xxxxx, Germany; ODL and Circuit#1 Festivals, France; and Sound and Music Computing, Italy.

Ryan has collaborated on many projects such as Give Me Your Blessings (an Opera dealing with technology and relationships) with Tim Hopkins, Royal Opera House, UK; ChaosLab (a permeating chaotic workshop/installation/performance) with APO33, France/Norway; The Hylics (augmented violin, bridging classical instrumentation with contemporary electronic music) with Geraldine McEwan, UK; UselessUseful (wearable computing fashion experiment) with Christina Tsu and David Liu, China; and /mode+v (online chat room music system) with goto10, UK.

Ryan also run's workshops on DIY Punk Electronics, using simple electronics to make noise, sounds, and to control lights. He also works a lot with stroboscopic light and flicker to enduce hallucinations and see the inner, hidden workings of machines.

Ryan also has a BA Sonic Arts, Middlesex University, 2007, and gained a Distinction in MFA Computational Studio Arts, Goldsmiths, 2009.
