Wanda Yu-Ying Hu, born in Taiwan 1972, lives and works in London. After being trained as an architect at Tunghai University in Taiwan and the Bartlett in London, she gained a masters degree in Fine Art at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design. Since then, her work has been exhibited in the U.K., Ireland, Portugal, Germany, South Africa, Thailand, Philippines, Vietnam, South Korea and the USA.

The concerns of her work lie in the area of identity in relation to the body and architectural space. It combines self-analytical approach with intuitive method in the process of making. Through photography, film and video, she uses light as a medium to generate unexpected effects and intensive sense experiences in her installations. The displacement of ordinary gallery spaces challenges the conventional bodily perception and re-contextualises the notion of embodiment and boundaries.
