Small But Perfectly Formed

A programme of improvised music on laptop to be performed at Area10 on April 1st '06

On the 1st of April in Area 10 Small But Perfectly Formed presents three acts of improvised music on laptop in dialogue with a visual artist. The musicians question our general conception of music as well as they challenge and open our perception of sounds. The three acts have been chosen to display different possibilities offered by digital media in music. The eclectic approaches prove that what used to be considered as a tool has fully gained the dimension of an instrument.

artists playing will be:

Matt Davis (field recording)
Benedict Drew and Alistair Leslie (software processing)
Mattin (computer feedback, http://www.mattin.org)

Rob Flint (http://www.scopac.org) will perform a direct response to the music using video, live camera, and software image processing.
