Unfurnished

Unfurnished is a multimedia installation made out of a recycled house and a video projection of images of digital manipulted data from archives and the web, which look at inequalities in between rich and poor and contractions in between world situations of abundance and scarcity.

In an age of jet aircraft, personal computers, wireless telecommunications and incipient space travel, inequalities in between nations and people are increasing and the gap between rich and poor is widening. Paradoxically the majority of the world´s nation living below the official poverty line have television, dvd´s and computer and therefore consume images of wealth and consumerism. They became observers of their own inequalities. Unfurnished is a multimedia project which explores the relationship in between poor and rich world realities, it looks at the world inequalities of contrasting situations of abundance and scarcity.

Unfurnished is an installation of a recycled house made up of wood collected from the streets of London. Inside the house images of digital manipulated data from video and the internet will be digital screened in the walls of the house.

The Unfurnished piece intends to question viewer's about these issues of world polarities and make them to consider their place and responsibilities towards these issues.
