The FleaPit is a cafe-bar on Columbia Rd right next to the park. A place where art and socialising go hand in hand...

Our home is the ground floor of a small Victorian warehouse. We're split over two spaces, The Lounge and The Pit (Freedom Gallery).

GUY DEBORD is celebrated as the leader of the Situationist International and as the author of the searing critique of the media-saturated society of consumer capitalism: The Society of the Spectacle.

What is much less well known is that after the May '68 Revolution, Debord and his partner - Alice Becker-Ho - quit Paris and went to live in a remote French village. Over the next two decades, Debord devoted much of the rest of his life to inventing, refining and promoting what he came to regard as his most important project: The Game of War.

SPACE is London's original radical artist support organization. Set up in East London in 1968 to provide affordable studio space for visual artists. Alongside this core support for artists we host accompanying exhibitions, courses and events including those with a focus on new media and technology, wherever possible offering these for free.

Programmes include:

PERMACULTURES
Residencies, DIY technology workshops and talks exploring the difficult relationship of technology and Ecology.

Urban Dynamik
A web platform and training programme for young people in London to develop and show off their up and coming media talent.

Continue along Cambridge Heath Road, past the Museum of Childhood and on towards Mare Street (15 minute walk or 10 minutes by bus). Overground Trains arrive directly from Liverpool Street to London Fields Station, a five minute walk to SPACE. Download Map Car We have limited car parking for visitors and priority is given to people with access needs. Bicycle Secure Hoops are accessible from the entrance on Warburton Road or infront of SPACE on Mare Street. By Foot SPACE is located at The Triangle adjacent to London Fields Park, 5 minutes walk from Broadway Market and next door to the London Fields pub on Mare Street. Travelling to Hackney can appear confusing, so use the TFL Journey Planner as a guide to getting to and from SPACE.
