One Man Nation will present the processes of his approach to the performance of the computer as a musical instrument and his search for the sounds of the post-folk, using the preservation of Indonesian traditional/folk music as a basis for the creation of new musical amalgams.

ONE MAN NATION
Marc Chia aka One Man Nation (b.1982, Singapore) is a musician with a background in media and sound art. Graduating in 2009 with a masters in Media Design from the Piet Zwart Institute in the Netherlands, he investigates social and psychological situations related to tradition and its progression, the future through the eyes of history, and spirituality in technology through the medium of sound and performance. He currently splits his time between Europe and Indonesia where he is researching and developing The Future Sounds Of Folk in collaboration with Steim as well as co-directing The UnifiedField collective and art space with Marta Moreno Munoz.
The next One Man Nation release is scheduled for September this year, will be vinyl only and released on Austrian experimental music label Klub Moozak.
Marc Chia has collaborated in his existence with Pierre Bastien, C-drik Fermont, Kato Hideki, Damo Suzuki, Hilary Jeffrey, Zai Kuning, Mindfuckingboy, Olaff Kehler, Richard Scott, Katie Duck, Alfredo Genovesi, Soopa Collective, and has performed internationally at festivals such as Mapping (Geneva), Piksel (Bergen), MEM (Bilbao), STEIM Jamboree (Amsterdam), Makeart (Poitiers), Fete 0.1 (Orléans) and SummerLAB (Gijon).

RYAN JORDAN
Ryan Jordan is a UK based electronic musician/artist working with DIY electronics, physical performance, Pure Data, and noise. He creates live electronic music/noise performances which incorporate human physical movements and stroboscopic light as their essential foundation. He is interested in immersive, multisensory, and hallucinatory live art.
Ryan curates several noise, experimental and computer arts events and concerts in the UK, such as hac... and noise=noise which promote a wide range of artists, from internationally acclaimed artists to the underground lurker. He is an active member of London based open source collective, OpenLab; and has released music on labels such as Bad Sekta, Anithematica/CovenH, AntiGen, and Noiz Mutations. Ryan's work has been performed and presented internationally at places such as Piksel Festival, Norway; 3rd International Pure Data Convention, Brazil; xxxxx, Germany; ODL and Circuit#1 Festivals, France; and Sound and Music Computing, Italy; as well as squats, pub cellars, dingy nightclubs, and academic institutions.
Ryan has also studied BA Sonic Arts (2007) at Middlesex University, London, and received a distinction in MFA Computational Studio Arts (2009) at Goldsmiths University, London. He is currently studying for a PhD at the Music Technology and Innovation Research Centre, De Montfort University, Leicester.

RYO IKESHIRO
Ryo Ikeshiro is a UK based electronic and acoustic musician working in the field of composition, improvisation and installations. In his recent works, dynamical systems are used in generative, noise/glitch/electroacoustic music for performance and interaction. Possibilities offered by complexity resulting from simple rules are explored, producing emergent phenomena that is unpredictable but nevertheless deterministic and exhibiting characteristics of both chaos and order.
Recent projects include an interactive sound installation, PulseCubes, for re:new 2010, Copenhagen, a performance of Construction in Self and accompanying paper at ICMC10, New York, and David Tudor’s Rainforest IV, London. He is one half of ry-om, a live electronics duo, whose tracks have been featured on Resonance FM; their recent studio project was for Creative Sources Recordings.
He is currently studying for a PhD in Studio Composition at Goldsmiths College, London.
He is also an instrumental and music technology teacher and runs workshops challenging preconceptions about music.

MICK GRIERSON
Mick Grierson is an experimental artist specialising in real-time interactive audiovisual research, with specific focus on cognition and perception. He works in film, music, and software development, both inside and outside industry, designing, developing and producing new approaches to creating audiovisual experience.
