Tricks of the Psych Trade: A Triple Bill

An Evening Exploring the How, What and Why of Psychology, featuring: live demonstrations, an exhibition by an artist with Asperger's Syndrome, and a navigable sonic art installation exploring fMRI data.

People harbour misconceptions as to the nature of psychology and this event aims to dispel these myths and communicate three major methods used by experimental psychologists; scientific experiments, brain imaging techniques and individual testimonies.
The scientific study of empathy will be used to communicate these methods; a theme well-placed to promote audience engagement and illustrate the clinical importance of psychological research i.e. autism.
The event will be three pronged consisting of the Tricks of the Psych Trade Interactive Session presented by Dr Emma Lawrence, the installation 'In Sound Mind' by Julie Freeman and an exhibition by Peter Myers.
