Constructing a Post Autonomous Practice
A series of nomadic interventions in strategic venues in both material and dematerial spaces throughout London, the information will be used to generate a map.
"Constructing a Post Autonomous Practice" will be a month long series of interventions at stategic locations around London in collaboration with practitioners from the USA, UK and Europe, along with local and long distant audiences.
These activities, just to name a few, will be in the form of spontaneous nomadic actions and sculptures using people, materials and the fabric of the street and urban spaces; open air exhibitions; on-line research into websites observing public spaces and public traffic; documentation on the role and policy of art across London; a venue for discussions, videos, on-line debates, websites, a space to think and rest, an archive of texts and photographs generated by the actions.
However Post Autonomy is currently defined the projects principle aim is to develop thinking and interventions that clarify its reception!
Above all we will use the project to raise a series of questions about the social role of art.
"What is the role of art in London?" " Can we use London as a World city for a template to analyse the Global context of art?" "How does a Euro-centric art practice function?"
Through asking these questions allows us to piece together a concrete Post Autonomous practice!
