Sound Screens showcases artists whose distinctive repertoires variously use audio and visual material to create collages sampled from sources including urban landscapes, pop culture, and scientific research.

Installations presented here include selections from the new Disinformation Sense Data and Perception project, classic Disinformation space physics recordings and material from Disinformations video repertoire – Spellbound and Blackout / Antiphony.

PeopleLikeUs aka Vicki Bennett has been making CDs, radio, and A/V multimedia for the last 16 years. Through her work she continues to animate and recontextualise found footage collages with an equally witty and dark view of popular culture with a surrealistic edge, both pre-recorded and in a live setting. Sound Screens presents her entire A/V back catalogue.

HFRLab will present Cityscan. The project aims to generate a visual metaphor that produces new correspondences between sound and vision. Generating an intricate layering of cityscapes that scroll and flicker on time with the music, Cityscan becomes an audio-visual pattern where the rhythm achieved is a metaphor of the rhythm of the city itself.
